Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering! It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to a vibrant academic community committed to excellence in education, innovation and professional development. Our department strives to nurture technically competent, ethically grounded and socially responsible engineers who are prepared to meet the evolving challenges of the modern world. With a balanced focus on strong theoretical foundations and practical applications, we provide students with opportunities to engage in hands-on learning, industry interaction and research-oriented activities. Our dedicated faculty members are committed to mentoring students and fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity and continuous self improvement. We believe that engineering is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about applying it to solve real-world problems and contribute meaningfully to society. History

The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the oldest departments in Shillong Polytechnic . It was established in 1978 with an intake capacity of 30 students. The primary objective is to produce skilled engineers and technicians.

The department offers a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering with an intake capacity of 30 per batch

PEO1	To equip Diploma graduates with knowledge and skills to provide solutions to Electrical Engineering problems in industry and governmental organizations or to enhance student learning in educational institutions.
